Dear Friends and Well Wishers,
Saugat Chalise, a MBA student at Newman University Wichita, KS was found unconsious on 7th of November 2010 at his apartment. He had sufferend from multiple seizures for a unknown period of time when his roommate found him unconsious. He was then rushed to Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita KS emergency room and was later transferred to the Neuro Critical Care Unit. His brother Sagun and his mom have been constantly there to montior him. The cause of seizure is still unknown. He never had a history of seizures and had no family history of it. All possible diagnostic test from MRI, MRA, CT scan, lumber puncture for Epilepsy, Brain tumor, bacterial infection etc have come negative. So, the doctors are leaning more towards viral infection. However, they have not been able to pinpoint this as a cause. He still suffers from multiple seizures even after being put on several anti-seizure medications.
Since then he has been on mechanical ventilation support for breathing and multiple invasive lines has been placed. After two weeks without any diagnosis, a specialist was added to his medical team. They have put him on video survelliance and continious EEG monitor. Saugat stared developing Pneumonia so Tracheostomy and Bronchoscopy was done along with peg tube placed for nutional support on Nov 23rd, 2010.
Saugat has been on medically induced coma all this time. Any contribution to help his family at this time of need would be appreciated. The updates about him can be found on his website: www.helpsaugat.org For more information please contact, Sagun Chalise (Brother) 316-461-4091 Prajjwal Bista 316-680-7436 Prasuz Tamrakar 316-409-5973 Manita Dhungel 316-680-8993 With great appreciation, ANA family |
